Find The Casing Bottom Of A Well

February 1, 2016

Although a video camera can usually be sufficiently enough to find the bottom of the casing for a well, sometimes the video camera doesn't work due to corrosion and deposits on the walls of the hole. In such cases, geophysical logging tools such as the caliper could be very useful.

Enviroprobe conducted an investigation in a well using both video camera and geophysical borehole logging. The casing bottom was not clearly visible in the video but its depth can be discerned from the caliper log as shown in the image.
