Scale Accumulation in Wells—Optical Televiewer and Video Camera Comparison

Enviroprobe recently performed a geophysical investigation to investigate possible scale accumulation in the screen sections at the bottoms of some recovery wells. Each well was about 120 feet deep and its screen section was supposed to be around 10 feet in length.The investigation utilized a Vivax vCam Digital System (VCDS) and a borehole logging system from Mount Sopris Instrument (MSI) with an optical televiewer sensor.

In general, the optical televiewer provides 2 dimensional (2D) high resolution images (Shown above) while the VCDS gives videos with better 3 dimensional (3D) perspectives.
