UNDERWATER UTILITY LOCATING

Underwater_communication_line.jpg

An underwater communication cable detected in Ocean City, NJ. The water is up to 20' deep and the cable is at burial depths of up to 8'.

Accurately tracing underwater pipes/cables is a common and critical locating application for dredging, bridge construction, and other applications. For locating pipes and cables, the sensing antennas should be as close as possible to the target line, so it is not practical to locate lines buried under a river or seabed from the surface.

Enviroprobe owns a Radiodetection 8kHz Submersible DD antenna specifically for underwater utility locating. Combined with our latest positioning technologies, including differential GPS and Total Station, we can fulfill our client’s needs for accurate underwater utility locating.

Enviroprobe can deploy our submersible antenna with extensions to the surface or with the aid of a diver.
